Rya Show Choir

I look forward to working with you!

"Rya Show Choir" is very active, dynamic group of college-aged students (18 to 24), who have a love and dedication for vocal music.  They will be prepared to have a discipline that will allow them to become a vital part of this show choir enabling us to sing a wide variety of music with choreography and drama.  We will move from formal, classical music to casual country in jeans.  The two most important components of this choir are discipline and fun.  You must be able to be disciplined enough to fulfill your part without hesitation and be comfortable enough on stage so as to really enjoy the performances.

The past four years have been the best years of my life!...I began voice lessons with Mrs. Rita in the fall of 1999.  I have sung all my life, but began taking voice lessons to perfect my voice.  Mrs. Rita introduced to me not only ways of making my voice stronger, but life lessons...With Mrs. Rita's help and our hard work, I was blessed to receive a scholarship...Mrs. Rita, thank you so much for all the wonderful things you have done with me and my God-given talent.  Without you, I wouldn't have made it this far.  You have taught me so many things, spiritually and vocally.  I'm very grateful for you and your guidance.  ~Allison Franklin, Show Choir Student

Mrs. Allen, Where do I begin?  There are times in peoples lives that forever remain ingrained in their minds.  The times I have spent with you at Southside and in "Etowah Live!" have made me a stronger person physically, mentally, and spiritually.  I have been made who I am today because of you.  Thank you so much Mrs. Allen, and members of "Etowah Live!" for your support throughout the past three years.  Sincerely, Dustin Phillips (Show Choir Student)

Mrs. Allen, I feel Choir has been the biggest blessing in my life. I have met some of the best people and one of those people is you. You make my day and I know when I walk in that door, just seeing your smile makes my day better. Everything that we have been through not only has made the Choir stronger, but me as a person. I thank you so much for the best semester I've had. Love in Christ,Brittany Wise

Mrs. Rita, I had so much fun this year in choir. Our country show was the BEST! Thank you so much for all the things you have taught me! My voice would be horrible w/o you. I love you, Cara Cochran

Mrs. Allen, What can I say? Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of the choir. You've touched my life in so many ways and you've helped me to see that if I put my mind to it, I could do anything. It's been a wonderful year! So many friendships have blossomed in my life and I'm so grateful for that. You, and also the choir have had a huge impact on me. You all believed in me even when I was down. I will never forget the kind and Christian leaders that made us what we are. I will always love you, Amy Smith

Mrs. Allen, you have given me so many opportunities this year and it has made me such a better person and performer, I am eternally in debt to you Thank you for a wonderful year. The Sound of Music will be with me always. Love in Christ, Heather
